Check your website the way a phone sees it
We fetch your homepage once, with a phone's user agent, and score what comes back. No account, no email, and nothing is stored.
One request, from a phone's user agent, over mobile-shaped conditions. A site that refuses our request renders fine for a person, and we say so rather than marking it broken.
The 4 things we look at
These are faults an owner recognises, and each is cheap to fix once somebody names it.
- It loads at all
- A lapsed domain or a host that stopped answering. Nothing tells you when this happens, and it is commoner than owners expect.
- It is encrypted
- A site served over plain HTTP is marked Not Secure in every current browser, before a word of it is read. A certificate is free from any host.
- It fits a phone
- One missing line of HTML, the viewport tag, and a phone lays the page out for a desktop and shrinks it. Google has indexed mobile-first since 2019.
- It arrives fast
- Time to the page itself, on mobile data rather than office broadband. Past about 3 seconds you lose a real share of visitors before anything renders.
Questions we get asked
Not as a standalone tool. Google retired it in December 2023. The same checks live inside Search Console now, and mobile rendering has been the basis of the index since 2019.
We fetch your homepage once and score what comes back. Nothing is stored, no account is made, and we do not email you. The page you are reading is the whole product.
No. A 401, 403 or 429 means a firewall declined our request, and the page renders perfectly well for a person. We say so rather than marking it broken, because scoring it would put a false claim about your business on a screen.
Nothing. Rebuilding something that already works is not a service, and we will tell you that rather than sell you a replacement.
Tell us about the work.
Answer 6 questions, add your photos and say where to send it. It takes about 5 minutes, talking or typing. No call, no card, nothing to sign.
Talk us through all six.
Press record once and answer the 6 below. Take as long as you like.
- What do you do, and who for? Example: I am a plumber. Mostly emergency callouts for homeowners, some landlords.
- Which towns do you cover? Name the places you would actually drive to, or the postcodes you work.
- What jobs do you want the phone to ring for? The work you want more of, and not everything you are able to do.
- Why do people pick you over the next name on the list? Say it the way you would say it standing in somebody's kitchen.
- What should someone do when they land on your site? Ring you, fill in a form for a quote, or send a message?
- Anything you want it to look like? A site you like, the colour on your van, or nothing at all. Nothing at all is a fine answer.
Any order is fine. Say something twice, come back to a thing you forgot, stop to think. It all stays in one recording and we sort it out at our end.
